An Alien Concept
© Words by Carole Young and Eric Daum 2012

Falling in love again is an alien concept
A childhood language I’ve forgotten how to speak

There must be light ahead In the depths of this black hole
A distant star that I’ve forgotten how to reach

Darkness all around
The nighttime shadows rise
At times like these I could really use a friend
The Ghosts of memories
The time I spent with you
The everlasting story finally comes to an end

Being in love again is an alien concept
I’ve forgotten what to do or what to say

I wander through my days with no light to guide me
If I light a match will the sparks burst into flame?

Darkness all around
The nighttime shadows rise
At times like these I could really use a friend
The ghosts of memories
The times I spent with you
The everlasting story finally comes to an end
